Timeline for the development of the Beijing CBD

1993: A paper, "A General Urban Planning of Beijing", is approved by the State Council, introducing the idea of designing and constructing a CBD in the area from Chaoyangmen to Jianguomen and from the East Second Ring Road to the East Third Ring Road.

August 8, 2000: The 82nd Mayoral Working Session decides to accelerate construction of the CBD, to establish joint meetings for its construction and to set up the Beijing Administrative Committee.

August 15-18, 2000: The first Chaoyang Beijing International Business Festival is held.
