League reinstates QB Favre

NEW YORK: The NFL officially reinstated veteran quarterback Brett Favre on Monday, clearing the way for his return to the Green Bay Packers.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell's announcement ended constant media speculation on the 38-year-old's playing status after he had retired earlier this year.
Favre, the all-time leader in touchdown passes (442) and passing yards (61,655), quit in March at a tearful news conference after leading the Packers to a 13-3 record and the NFC title game.
