The good will of an ordinary man four years ago has been unexpectedly rewarded with the chance to carry the torch for the Beijing Olympics.
Forty-four-year-old Chinese doctor Li Zhi was selected to be a torchbearer after being recommended by his longtime pal - the former chairman of the International Olympic Committee Juan Antonio Samaranch.
"I am a lucky torchbearer who got the recommendation from my old friend," Li says.
