Proud dad's present to daughter

Xie Haibao has worked as a security guard for 12 years in downtown Beijing's Wangfujing street, where hundreds of thousands of shoppers go every day.

He never thought he would be elected as one of China's 3,000 model workers in 2005, an honor awarded every five years, along with NBA All-Star Yao Ming and world champion hurdler Liu Xiang.

Nor did he expect that he would become a Beijing Olympic torchbearer.
