Some find their tongue, others lash with it

It seems everybody in China is learning English - a trend closely linked to the country's rapid economic development and ties with the outside world.

Tsinghua University dining hall cook Zhang Liyong, for one, has earned campus-wide acclaim for his fluency in the foreign language.

The 33-year-old migrant worker from Jiangxi province, who was too poor to finish high school, taught himself English and now instructs his coworkers in the foreign language.
