Chapel Bridge and Water Tower - Lucerne's landmark built in the 14th century
Part of the city's fortifications, the bridge's octagonal tower is over 34 m high and was used as an archive, treasury, prison and torture chamber. The Water Tower is the most photographed monument in Switzerland.
Lion Monument - described by Mark Twain as "the saddest and most moving piece of rock in the world"
This is one of the world's most famous monuments. It was hewn out of a natural rock in memory of the heroic death of the Swiss mercenaries at the Tuileries in 1792.
KKL Luzern - Culture and Convention Centre Lucerne
Designed by Paris architect Jean Nouvel, the concert hall with 1,840 seats is one of the finest in the world. Lucerne Hall, an auditorium and the Museum of Art are also part of this complex.
Swiss Museum of Transport - the most visited museum in Switzerland
An experience-oriented show demonstrates the story of the development of all forms of traffic and communication in the most comprehensive museum of its kind in Europe. Switzerland's only IMAX theater and a planetarium are also located at the site.
Mount Titlis - at 3,020 m the highest viewpoint in the Lake Lucerne region
The first revolving cable-car in the world transports tourists to a breathtaking panoramic view, a glacier cave, a chairlift and the Titlis Glacier Park. A hiking paradise in summer and the region's largest winter sport area.
Mount Pilatus - the world's steepest cogwheel railway up to 2,132 m
On its climb the railway passes meadows carpeted with alpine flowers, crystal-clear mountain streams and sheer cliff formations to reach the top that offers panorama of the surrounding area.
