3 officers held over peddler's death

Three Chongqing city adminstrators have been detained following the death of a street peddler on Wednesday.

An autopsy will be conducted on Liu Jianping, 35, to determine the exact cause of his death, the Chongqing Commercial Daily reported yesterday.

The publicity department of the Party's Yuzhong district committee declined to reveal more details to China Daily. It said only that "an investigation is under way".
