Updated: 2008-07-25 07:31 Country signs amity pact The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) yesterday signed a nonaggression pact with 10 Southeast Asian nations. DPRK's Foreign Minister Pak Ui Chun signed the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation with the Association of the Southeast Asian Nations at a ceremony on the last day of the group's annual security conference. The treaty requires signatories to renounce the use or threat of force and calls for the peaceful settlement of conflicts. (China Daily 07/25/2008 page11) |
