Tax revenue up
China's tax revenue rose 30.5 percent in the first six months from a year earlier to 3.26 trillion yuan, the tax administration said yesterday, compared with a 33.8 percent growth rate in the first quarter. China's tax take for all 2007 rose 31.4 percent to 4.94 trillion yuan.
The country's stock trading tax rose by 34 percent year-on-year in the first half reaching 83.7 billion yuan, thanks to the hike in the stamp tax rate from 1 percent to 3 percent from last May until the end of April.
