Updated: 2008-07-02 07:47 China Life strikes deal China Life, the country's largest life insurer, has signed a deal with the organizing committee of the 11th National Games to provide an insurance package service to the Games. It is also the first time for China Life to provide both life and non-life insurance services at a mega sporting event, including accident insurance, property and casualty insurance and public liability insurance. SWIFT messages SWIFT, a global provider of secure financial messaging services, is going to strengthen its expansion into China's securities, forex and derivatives messages business to make them the new growth engines for the firm's global business, the company's top management said. In China, SWIFT currently has 223 financial institutions, mainly banks using their messaging services. PR conference The 18th session of International Public Relations (PR) Association World Congress is scheduled to be held in Beijing from November 13 to 15, marking the first time that China hosts such an international event in the PR industry. The theme of this session will be "PR - building a harmonious society in the globalization era". Copper capacity Jiangxi Copper Co, China's second biggest producer of the metal, will expand the capacity of its Dexing Copper Mine by 30 percent, as it seeks to increase self-sufficiency in raw materials. Jiangxi Copper plans to expand output to 130,000 metric tons a day by 2011, said contractor China Enfi Engineering Corp, a unit of State-owned construction company China Metallurgical Group Corp.
