Updated: 2008-07-02 07:42 Verbal attacks 'wrong' An attack by French President Nicolas Sarkozy on Europe's trade chief Peter Mandelson as well as on World Trade Organization Director-General Pascal Lamy was "disappointing", Mandelson's spokesman said yesterday. "President Sarkozy's further attack on Peter Mandelson, as EU trade negotiator, as well as Pascal Lamy, is disappointing. Such criticism is wrong and unjustified," the spokesman said in a statement, adding Sarkozy had made his latest comments in a TV interview on Monday night. (China Daily 07/02/2008 page12) |
