The aggrieved, expectant mother started the fire at 5:04 pm, with the sole intention of teaching husband a lesson after they had quarreled. But the blaze got out of control, rendering the woman trapped in her smoke filled home. Upon being called, fire fighters arrived on the scene immediately. They rescued the woman after breaking down the door to her second floor apartment. (Jinri Anbao News) Old lady gulled out of RMB 1 million A 70-year-old woman surnamed Zhang of Changsha, Hunan province, has been swindled by a con man out of more than 1.1 million yuan ($159,000) over a three-year period . Zhang met Ning Yuan, who claimed to be a sales man, three years ago. They immediately became "close friends." Ning gulled Zhang out of her savings over the past few years on the pretexts of helping her to invest, do business and buy apartments. None of Zhang's offspring knew about the matter until she sought help from the police early this month. Ning was detained on Thursday after police launched an investigation.
