Romos-Honta to decide on UN job
East Timor President Jose Ramos-Horta said yesterday he would consult with political and church leaders on whether to step down if he were offered a top UN human rights job for which he is a possible candidate.
The 58-year-old Ramos-Horta, who won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1996 for his struggle for East Timor's independence from Indonesia, will announce his decision on the human rights commissioner's post today.
