More rights for disabled

The rights and interests of the country's 83 million disabled people will be better protected, after the National People's Congress Standing Committee yesterday ratified the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

Legislators said the ratification, which comes about two months ahead of the Paralympics, will help curb discrimination and create a barrier-free society.
