Crackdown on piracy

Police in Beijing's Chaoyang district have apprehended 81 suspects accused of selling "illegal" publications. Officers have confiscated more than 24,000 pirated DVDs and 9,200 pirated books. Police have also seized 843 DVDs containing content considered obscene. Authorities launched a crackdown on street vendors selling unauthorized goods earlier this year.
