Storm and rain lash south

Waves swell in Victoria Harbor as a typhoon hit Hong Kong yesterday. Business on the stock exchange and public transport services were suspended after tropical storm Fengshen brought high velocity winds and heavy rain to the city. Hong Kong's observatory issued the No 8 typhoon warning for the first time this year, the third highest of a four-stage storm warning system indicating gales or storm-force winds. AFP

Tropical storm Fengshen brought more rain and misery to southern China yesterday, throwing life out of gear in the economic hubs of Hong Kong and Shenzhen.
