Home favorites eyeing World Cup success

China Daily | Updated: 2008-06-20 07:37

Chinese favorites Liang Wenchong and Zhang Lianwei believe the Omega Mission Hills World Cup can help the development of golf in China.

The team championship, which will be played at Mission Hills Golf Club from Nov 27-30, joins the HSBC Champions, UBS Hong Kong Open, Volvo China Open and the BMW Asian Open as top golf events held in China.

It also follows last November's highly successful inaugural staging of the Omega Mission Hills World Cup, which saw Scotland triumph over the United States in a thrilling playoff.
