Reports on doping materials denied

China Daily | Updated: 2008-06-19 07:25

The country's drug watchdog has rubbished reports that said China has exported large amounts of performance-enhancing drug ingredients.

"Most of such products are exported to companies that are holders of proper licenses and warrants in the importing countries, and their uses are clearly stated," Wu Zhen, deputy head of the State Food and Drug Administration, told a news briefing yesterday.

"If Chinese drugs are used to produce performance-enhancing drugs and sold illegally after being legally exported, the importing countries should bear the responsibility for that," Wu said.
