Waterfall festival lures tourists

A Tang dynasty poem goes, "The water of the Yellow River comes from the heaven."

The magnificent sight lured many tourists when the Xiaolangdi Watching Waterfall Festival opened in Xiaolangdi Reservior in Henan province on Sunday.

Visitors can watch water flush out of the sluice of the Xiaolangdi Dam on the Yellow River, China's second largest, during the 15-day festival.

More than 4,000 cu m per second of water will be discharged out of the reservoir, to wash the sands in the riverbed into the sea.
