SAVANNAH, Georgia: The annual east coast maritime conference is typically an opportunity to discuss the state of the global shipping industry. But the fourth conference held in June 4-5 quickly turned into a China-focused lecture.
Deep in the south of the US, the conference was held in a town, which has developed a budding relationship with China.
Savannah - a quaint east coast town, has become America's fastest growing port, and chief among topics discussed at the conference was China's role in the international import-export market and its impact on the global economy.
