Chen Yunlin: ARATS chairman

Chen Yunlin, a native of Heilongjiang province, is the chairman of the Association for Relations across the Taiwan Straits (ARATS).

He was born in Heishan, northeastern Liaoning province in December 1941. In 1966, he joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) and a year later, graduated from Beijing Agriculture University with a degree in chemistry.

He worked as a technician and later director of Yucuntun Chemical Factory in Qiqihar, a city in northeastern Heilongjiang province.
