Chiang Pin-kun: SEF chairman

Chiang Pin-kun, born in December 1932 in Taiwan's Nantou county, is vice-chairman of the Kuomintang (KMT) and chairman of the Straits Exchange Foundation (SEF).

In 1959, he graduated from the Law and Business College of Taiwan and in 1971, received his PhD in agricultural economics from the University of Tokyo.

From 1989-90, Chiang served as "administrative vice-minister" at the "ministry of economic affairs" and from 1990-93 as "political vice-minister" and "minister".
