Large compensation ordered for unfair detention
Huang Youyuan, a cotton mill owner in Hunan province, was detained in 1990 by police who suspected her of engaging in "speculation and profiteering."
Lacking evidence to confirm these allegations, the authorities released her four years later. By then, her business was in shambles.
