Luo's legacy lives on after his death

Luo Qing, a former deputy editor-in-chief of China Daily, passed away on Tuesday at the age of 96.

Luo joined China Daily in December 1980 and retired in December 1983. As one of its senior founding editors, he devoted all his talent and passion to the growth of the paper during its infancy. He deeply impressed his colleagues with his professionalism, dedication and pursuit of idealism.

"Luo was already 65 when he joined the paper, but you never got the impression he was old," Yu You, former deputy editor-in-chief of China Daily, said. "He often worked overtime at night. We were both deputy editors-in-chief at that time, and I really admired him for his passion for journalism, even in his later years of life."
