40 hurt in acid leak

More than 40 factory workers in Shenzhen were poisoned on Saturday, following a hydrochloric acid leak, local authorities said on Sunday.

At about at 9 am on Saturday, a 3,000-liter tank of hydrochloric acid exploded as workers were filling it at the Quannao electrical appliance factory in the city's Bao'an district. Thousands of workers were evacuated from nearby factories.
