Stop taking things so seriously

My biggest problems in expat life arise when I take myself too seriously. Sometimes, I think I know more than I do and become such a bore. As soon as I start thinking my China viewpoints are laced with gold, my life starts drifting into the ho-hum zone.

I start turning into one of those pompous expats, who annoys everybody with their half-baked opinions about everything in China.

Fortunately, in Beijing there are so many likable expats, who are doing so many interesting things.
