Current account surplus

China's current account surplus hit $371.8 billion in 2007, up from $249.9 billion in 2006, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange said yesterday. The surplus on the capital and financial account was $73.5 billion in 2007. The SAFE said that due to the widening interest rate gap between yuan and foreign currencies and the expectation of further yuan appreciation, more capital may flow into the country this year.
