13 miners still missing

Thirteen miners are still missing after a coal mine in Heilongjiang province was flooded last week, local authorities said yesterday.

The incident happened at about 2 am on May 30, at the privately run Hengda Coal Mine in Jidong county, in the city of Jixi. Its owner initially said nobody was trapped, a spokesman for the Jixi work safety bureau said.
