A task to achieve sustainable economic growth through upgrading the economic structure, improving the efficiency and other measures for making the economy more competitive. During the 17th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, General Secretary Hu Jintao stressed this transformation as a key mission for attaining a sound and fast economic growth as well as establishing a modestly prosperous society in China by 2020.
