Summer of love
Golden couple Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey are reunited in this treasure-hunting romantic comedy, Fool's Gold, after their 2003 piece How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
Good-natured Ben Finnegan (Matthew McConaughey) is a modern-day treasure hunter. His obsession with finding the legendary 18th century Queen's Dowry, 40 chests of priceless treasures that were lost at sea in 1715, leads him to give up everything he has, including his marriage to Tess Finnegan (Kate Hudson). Working aboard a mega-yacht owned by billionaire Nigel Honeycutt, Finn discovers a vital clue to the treasure's whereabouts. Much to Tess's dismay, Finn plans his hunt aboard Nigel's yacht and, using his roguish charm, convinces the tycoon and his daughter, Gemma (Alexis Dziena), to join him in the pursuit of the treasures.
Against Tess's better judgment, the search rekindles her love for discovery, too. But the duo are not the only ones after the treasures, as Finn's mentor-turned-nemesis, Moe Fitch, has also set out to claim the prize. The hunt begins.
Directed by Andy Tennant, this movie is full of eye candy, white sandy beaches, blue waters and beautifully tanned stars. It is a good choice for a weekend summer date.
