Whoever penned the phrase, 'nothing in life is free' has never been to Beijing. Early this year, Chinese museums began introducing a free admissions policy. By the end of March, 600 of the 2,300 state-run museums had opened their doors to the public at no charge and the number will more than double to 1,400 by the end of next year.
