A group of young Chinese film actors, including Chen Shu, Jin Dong and Guo Da, revive the drama Sunrise by Chinese writer Cao Yu. Previously reworked into films and musicals, it is about the corruption and luxurious lifestyles of the rich, and the suffering of the poor.

The Chamber Opera The Wager, presented by Shanghai Opera House, is based on a story by Chinese writer Gao Xiaosheng about desire and greed. The critically acclaimed opera was assigned the opening drama at the 9th Mozart Country Music Festival held in 2003 in Geneva.

CONCERTS
Norwegian clown Melvin Tix conducts the Shanghai Opera House Orchestra. Melvin Tix, aka Petter Vabog, has performed in more than 1,000 concerts worldwide. Ten years of music school combined with Magic Circle membership make for an amusing show for adults and children.

This is the first large-scale concert five-piece South Korean Dong Bang Shin Ki has performed in Shanghai. Thousands of fans from Shanghai and neighboring cities are expected to attend. Shanghai is the last stop of the band's second Asia Tour Concert.

Exhibitions
The End Has No End gathers installations involving 60 LCD monitors and a giant balloon. Du Zhenjun and Zhou Xiaohu, the two creators, say the installations illustrate the pressure urban Chinese are under in their pursuit of wealth.
