Quake aid pours in
One hundred and fifty-five national governments, NGOs and more than 10 international and regional organizations have expressed willingness to give 1.9 billion yuan ($271 million) cash aid, of which 668 million yuan ($95 million) has reached the Foreign Ministry account, ministry spokesman Qin Gang said yesterday.
On Sunday, Sri Lanka delivered relief goods worth $1.3 million to the earthquake victims in Sichuan Province. Ambassador of Sri Lanka to China said a medical team comprising Sri Lankan doctors who could speak Chinese is ready to be sent to the affected areas if needed.
