Cynthia Nixon's soulmate search

Who's in

Cynthia Nixon always knew she would find her soulmate. The Sex and the City: The Movie actress - who began dating Christine Marinoni soon after splitting from her partner of 15 years, Danny Mozes - had no doubt there was somebody out there meant for her.

"I do believe in soulmates," she said.

"I think that some people find one person and they are with that person for life, and they grow together and change together. I feel in my love relationships, I've had different people who've brought out different parts of me. It goes to show you just never know who you're going to wind up with. It's much better to see what life throws your way."

The 42-year-old star - who has two children, 11-year-old Samantha and 5-year-old Charles, with Mozes - also said that the secret to a successful relationship is never taking your lover for granted.

"It's so easy to have your marriage or relationship put on the back burner," she said.

"You think that person is always going to be there. You say, 'Next week, I'll pay more attention', or 'Next year, I'll pay more attention'. But if you don't tend to it, it dies. So I think it's really important to spend time with that person when you're making dinner, putting the kids to bed or cleaning up."

Singer Usher 'files' for divorce

Who's in

R&B star Usher has reportedly filed for divorce from Tameka Raymond after just nine months of marriage.

The Love in This Club singer - who has been married to Tameka for nine months - is said to have filed official papers three weeks ago, but is unsure on whether to make a public announcement or let the news "leak" out.

"Extremely reliable sources close to Mr Raymond himself have confirmed that Usher has indeed filed for separation from his wife of only nine months Tameka Raymond," gossip website www.theyoungblackandfabulous.com claimed.

"I'm told he actually filed three weeks ago. And Usher is torn on whether he will be making an official announcement or not, as he wants to save face and just let it 'leak'."

However, the website also alleges that the "separation" could be a publicity stunt for Usher's new album Here I Stand, released worldwide at the end of the month.

"How convenient that his album releases in exactly six days, his second video hit the net today, and his album leaked yesterday," the story continues.

"We've been here before with the pre-album release publicity stunts."

Meanwhile, Usher recently said he had penned a song entitled Best Thing with Jay-Z, about the joys of being a newlywed.

"Of course, with the talk of both of us now being newlyweds, there is a question as to why, and is it real?" he said.

"Well, if you hear that song, you'll understand what Jay-Z meant when he says, 'Seeds becomes plants/ Boys become men/ You've got to grow up, not down'."

Usher and Tameka have a 5-month-old son, Usher Raymond V.

Naomi's tearful birthday bash

Who's in

Supermodel Naomi Campbell reportedly broke down in tears at her 38th birthday party. Campbell celebrated the occasion with a VIP party on rapper P. Diddy's yacht in Cannes, France, on Wednesday night.

The supermodel appeared happy when she arrived but left the party at 3 am looking distraught and tearful. While the reason for her distress is not clear, Naomi and Diddy have a checkered past.

At last year's Grammy Awards after-show party hosted by Jermaine Dupri, the couple had a vicious confrontation. Onlookers claimed the hip-hop mogul started screaming obscenities at Campbell and even shouted at her companion, Iron Man actor Terrence Howard.

Meanwhile, Campbell caused controversy earlier this week when she took a convicted criminal to a red carpet event at the world famous Film Festival. She was accompanied by Christophe Rocancourt - who conned rich investors out of millions of dollars in a string of scams - to the premiere of Steven Soderbergh's new movie Che.

After admitting to three counts of fraud, Rocancourt, 41, was sentenced to five years in prison and fined $9 million.
