Overcapacity woes

The severity of China's overcapacity problem may become evident in the second half of this year, economists said at the 2008 China International Capital Market Forum.

Although overcapacity may not seem a serious problem at the moment, it will start to become obvious in the second half, when exports begin to fall off, said Robert Subbarman, chief economist of Lehman Brothers (Asia-Pacific).
