Skydiver eyes free fall record

China Daily | Updated: 2008-05-27 07:41

A French skydiver has been forced to delay plans to make history by jumping from the stratosphere above Canada

Michel Fournier had planned yesterday to take to the sky in a capsule attached to a massive helium balloon and then step out and free fall 40,000 meters .

The manager of the launch, Dale Sommerfeldt, says the attempt is off, but it was not immediately clear why. It is not yet clear if another attempt will be made today.
