Exchange rate
The central bank set the mid-point of the yuan's exchange rate at 6.9399 against the US dollar yesterday, the highest since the currency's revaluation in July 2005.
The yuan has now appreciated 16.86 percent since it was revalued by 2.1 percent to 8.11 per dollar on July 21, 2005, when it was freed from a dollar peg.
