Conference on Myanmar

Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi attended an ASEAN-UN international pledging conference in Myanmar' s biggest city of Yangon yesterday, conveying China's deepest sympathy to the people of Myanmar hard hit by a cyclone storm early this month.

The Chinese government has provided $1 million and 30 million Chinese yuan ($4.3 million) in emergency aid to Myanmar. A Chinese medical team has also been sent to Myanmar cyclone-hit areas.
