Bamboo supplies restored

China Daily | Updated: 2008-05-26 07:15

The supply of bamboos and bamboo shoots to the China Giant Panda Protection and Research Center at Wolong in Sichuan province was restored on Friday.

Officials of the center, about 30 km from the epicenter of the quake in Wenchuan, had great difficulty in getting the pandas' staple because of continuous aftershocks and landslides.

Fresh bamboo began arriving at the center from Baoxing county, another giant panda habitat about 50 km southwest of Wolong, said Zhou Xiaoping, an official with the center.
