Day-care workers walk out
About 13,000 day-care workers have joined striking nurses to demand higher wages.
Yesterday's walkout comes after members of the union last week rejected a deal that would give them a 12.8 percent raise over the next three years. They have demanded 15 percent.
The preschool employees joined 65,000 nurses, midwives and laboratory assistants who have been on strike since April 16 over similar claims.
