Capital's restaurants chip in to help hot pot hometown

By Ye Jun | China Daily | Updated: 2008-05-18 06:50

Some of Beijing's Sichuan restaurants, major players in the capital's dining scene with their offerings of spicy, diverse dishes, have been doing their part to help victims of the deadly quake that hit the province on Monday.

Many restaurants in the capital employ migrant workers from Sichuan. Some of these were lucky to have found their families safe, while others are still frantically trying to reach their loved ones.

At the New Tao of Spice, a Sichuan hot pot restaurant, the managing board has decided to add to employees' donations by giving all income at its five branches in Beijing tomorrow to disaster relief.
