A Hong Kong man has become a well-known figure in Guangzhou's Panyu district.
Paul Tsang, a former tour guide, has been fostered 16 homeless children and taught them English for the past five years.
And five of them have now become white-collar workers.
Tsang also opened a special school to teach local homeless beggars English. Most of them come from outside Guangdong province.
Tsang settled in Guangdong in 2003.

1,000 roses fail to win heart of student
Roses do not always win a woman's heart, as one man embarrassingly discovered last week.
A student surnamed Xiao of South China Normal University in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, refused Xiao's advances on Tuesday, despite presenting her with 1,000 roses.
Xiao, armed with the roses, arrived at the woman's dormitory to express his love watched by her fellow students. The embarrassed student rejected Xiao's advances and warned him never to call on her again.
