A 56-year-old man drank poison and almost died on Wednesday when his children scolded him yet again for remarrying.
Doctors at 163 PLA hospital in Changsha, Hunan province, said the man named Luo, who had drunk more than a half bottle of insecticide, would have died if not for the timely treatment he received.
Luo's wife died six years ago and he remarried at the end of last year, much to the disappointment of his two jaded daughters, who never cease upbraiding him.

His shoes were made by his mother, who kept repairing them over the years.
