Heartbroken truant's diary leads teachers to him
Late last month Xiao Ning, a fifth grader in a primary school in Nanjing, Jiangsu province, fled school because a girl he admired was in a closer relationship with a fellow classmate.
Local mountain climber Chen saw Xiao Ning and one of his classmates, Xiao Bing, and later found two school bags dumped by the truants.
Chen opened Xiao Ning's bag and found a diary in which he had written: "I should not have fallen in love with somebody who already has her own love."
Chen called the school whose name and phone number were on the diary and teachers immediately found Xiao Bing, who had been missing for two days.

Hen has lucky farmer crowing over giant egg
Early this month, a hen in Xili village in Fuqing, Fujian province, laid a gigantic egg weighing 170 g, three times the weight of an ordinary egg.
Owner Li bought the hen three years ago and feeds it bran and wheat.
The bird also has a healthy appetite for grass and is good at laying regular-sized eggs - one 50 g specimen each day.
The huge egg's white and yolk are clearly visible when held up to the sun.
