Financial aid for elderly
From next Tuesday, more than 482,000 elderly people without social security will get 200 yuan per month from the municipal government, Beijing News reported yesterday. People over 60 years old will be eligible for the assistance.
The figure includes 357,000 people in the rural areas.
It was estimated there would be more than 700,000 people entitled to such aid.
