Across China: Beijing
Thermal power to Tibet
The country is preparing to build a project to transmit thermal power resources from the northwest to the Tibet autonomous region to boost the local economy.
According to the initial plan, the 1,100-km long electricity transmission line starts from Golmud in Qinghai province and ends at Lhasa, regional capital of Tibet, running in the same direction as the Qinghai-Tibet railway, sources with the National Development and Reform Commission said.
