Age difference no obstacle to marriage
Yan Jiafan, a 35-year-old man, married his 60-year-old bride Tao Chengbi in Chengdu, capital of Sichuan province, after eight years of battling obstacles.
Yan and Tao were both farmers living in Shengli village in Pengshui when they fell in love. Because of the age difference, their relatives and friends were against the courtship.

Cheap ring argument shaky ground for divorce
"He told me he would buy me a ring worth more than 6,000 yuan (about $860), but then he turned around and bought one worth just 3,000 yuan. That means he does not love me, so I want a divorce."
So ran the lament of Chen Yan, a resident of Chongqing. She married Zhang Feng in May 2007, but they fought early this year because Zhang had failed to honor his pledge to buy the more expensive ring. Chen filed for divorce, using the ring as grounds.
However, a court rejected the case on Thursday, saying the problem was just a minor one.
