Battle to go on against gangs

A group of 10 suspects are tried in a Chongqing court on April 17. They were accused of wounding with intent, racketeering, and gang fights. The leader was given a death sentence, suspended for two years, his two lieutenants got life sentences, and the rest various jail sentences. Chongqing Morning Post

Minister of Public Security, Meng Jianzhu, said on Monday the fight against Mafia-style gangs would be a "lasting task" as such gangs remain active in the country.
