Ronaldo goes to ground after transvestite tiff

RIO DE JANEIRO: Ronaldo was holed up in his apartment on Wednesday following the AC Milan striker's night on the town in Rio playing away with a trio of transvestite prostitutes, one of whom he alleges tried to bribe him out of $30,000.

A gaggle of press had no luck as they sought to bag an interview with the world champion, who after giving his initial account to police insisted he had nothing further to say.

He is on Monday due to go to the Rio police commissariat to make a full statement, as are the transvestites.
