Worldwide celebration

Overseas Chinese yesterday held celebrations around the world to mark the 100-day countdown to the Beijing Olympics, with thousands of them taking to the streets to show their support for the Games.

In the Egyptian capital of Cairo, Chinese students invited their local peers to play table tennis as part of special receptions held by the Chinese embassy to mark the occasion.

Egyptian students also tried their hand at wushu, Chinese martial arts, and learned how to make dumplings with their Chinese counterparts at the city's Chinese Culture Center.
